The award-winning Rugby League Raw returns on Wednesday on BBC1 (2310 BST) with a look back at the 2007 National League Play-Off series.
Once again the programme goes behind the scenes - in the dressing rooms, on the touchline and on the terraces - at the clubs battling for promotion.

Players, coaches, chairmen and fans alike go under the spotlight in the dramatic climax to the season.

The action begins at Oldham and continues with games at Halifax, Widnes and Barrow.

The show culminates with the excitement, tension and passion of Grand Finals Day at Headingley.

There is a second chance to see the programme on Friday, 12 October (2335 BST).

That isn't the point, the point is it is good to see rugby league returning to he national broadcaster in Britain for another season.

If we only were interested or posted rugby league info directly relevant to us, it'd be a pretty boring and quiet place.

Much like the news of RLWC coverage on British Sky Sports, I found that fantastic news.

Theis was posted on the bbc 606 site by user davegj regarding an email he wrote to the bbc about the absence of Rugby League Raw on tv.

I understand that you are unhappy that this programme is a Regional Opt-out for the North of England and that you would coverage of Rugby League to be broadcast nationally. The BBC is always looking to increase and improve on its sport portfolio. Rugby Union events are currently still available to terrestrial broadcasters, unlike some Rugby League events which enjoy coverage on Sky TV. Rugby Union is also widely supported in all the home nations and this is why the BBC negotiates the appropriate price to broadcast this and other top sporting events on its channels. However, we feel that we have given extensive coverage of League events such as the Rugby League World Cup and Challenge Cup on our three broadcast platforms (TV, radio and Online). We also screen the Super League Show in traditional Rugby League playing regions. The fact that it is not broadcast on the national network is in no way intended to lessen the coverage of these sports, and such Regional Opt-outs do not apply only to Rugby League. Shinty, for example, is often broadcast only in Scotland or Northern Ireland rather than on the Network BBC channels. I hope that this clarifies the BBC's position; nevertheless, I appreciate that you take a different view, and for this reason I have registered your comments for the attention of senior managers within BBC Sport. Feedback of this nature helps us when making decisions about future BBC programmes and services and your comment will play a part in this process. Thanks again for your e-mail.

Mate- I watch Super League on Fox...Why not it's footy! And to those that say it's English ..So what I still watch 2 teams playing representing Suburbs in Sydney that I don't live in too!

The Super League Final just recently was good value- love the atmosphere the Pommies turn on in the crowd with their singing and alike too!

Would love to go watch a game in Northern England..Wigan Leeds etc...Saw games at the Cottege when Fulham had League games on nearly 30 years ago...But their wasn't much of a crowd at those games! Could swing a cat in some parts without hitting another spector (not the atmosphere of up north)

PS What's Shinty! Never heard of that game!

Here's a link to shinty http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinty

The comparison would be funny if it wasnt for his seriousness.

I know what you mean Lee,but unfortunately the Beeb and most mainstream media are still pretty much the "old school tie" brigade, and RL has a real job to get any decent exposure, especially on a national level.
