I voted no. Despite the obvious benefit, I dont think the selectors would use him. The only scenario where they might, was if they needed a massive draw card to ensure a good crowd in Melbourne. I would be tempted to ask him to play anyway for his public profile in the game!

We would... there is no way he wouldn't. The main reason he isn't playing SOO is because of the impact it has on the Knights. But one game won't have much of an impact at all, so I think he would answer the call.

Bringing back retired halfbacks is so old....can't New South Wales do something original for once  But I could see Johns coming back for the third game, mainly to advertise the game down in Melbourne. Only time will tell if he comes back so I will remain undecided.

Not sure really. Ild like to think that he loves his state so much and that it would bring an enormous crowd in for the game down south....but on the other hand i think once joey says thats enough then i think he means it.

If the Knights are doing well and he 100 percent fit I think he will.

I think this whole retire then make a comeback thing is wrong. When are players going to realise that if they make the decision to retire, STICK TO IT!!! Time goes on and so do players. They are robbing the game of the next generation superstars opportunity to stamp their authority on the game. Yes they will eventually get their chance, but if they're pushed aside for "yesterdays hero" for one last hurrah, i'd be a little p***** off if that was me. Because what happens if new "hero" is suffers a career ending injury eg: broken neck in tackle, continuous problems with knees at the wrong time of year etc. Don't say this hasn't happened before because it has. About 10 yrs ago there was a centre by the name of David Woods, who played for Parra and Penrith. He was earmarked for higher honours but never got there due to continuous injuries at the wrong time and for lengthy periods. He was one player the game was robbed of at the highest levels.
Joey has decided to step away from SOO selection, the selectors should have the balls to stand by his decision and not pick him, even if the series is 1 all. It has happened before, but it has to stop. The buck stops here with the greatest player in modern history. I'd hate to see him come back, injure himself and never play again.

I think players like Andrew Johns, who have given so much to the game and brought in alot of fans deserves the right to do that. Let him play for his country one more time...its his career.

I totally agree. He was the one that decided to retire, he wasn't pushed. I think if you make the decision, stick to it. It is such a kick in the behind for players on the verge of making the team to be pushed aside to bring back a retired player. It shows the selectors have no faith in the other players so how are they going to develop faith in themselves?

Absolutely, he has made himself available for one final TEST match, and is more than worthy of selection.......but we are talking about bringing him back for origin, which I think is wrong if he has announced his retirement from that level. I truly hope he gets his test match last hoorah and then let it be.

If NSW lost the 1st game, then made it 1-1, I think it would be a huge injustice to the halfback who played the 1st two games.. Also what if this half back had a huge 1st game, then a good 2nd game in a losing side.. Wouldn't be very fair to drop him..

Depends on what Johns wants really. I feel he won't want to play, besides, NSW will be up 2-0 by then ;)

Yes, I think he would come back to play in the case where it was a 1-1 status. Then we could all listen over and over again how much of a hero he is,if NSW wins{really hope not}. I agree with the comments made by Schifty,it would not be fair to the player he replaces...But then all's fair in love and war....and SOO....

Would they even know who Andrew Johns is in Melbourne? I know we have a team there but when i lived in Victoria people looked at you strange if you mentioned Rugby League and it gets stuff all coverage down there as well
