After going over some experinces of my own at games this year and going on some past incidents that have happend (ie: firecracker at doggies game) i was thinking do you feel safe when you go to league games?

Ive been to a few games this year with my younger sister and quite frankly have been disgusted at the way some people at the grounds act esp after getting on the booze.

And this year when a fan was able to bring a firecracker/firework into a game and set it off, plus there have been a number of stories of fans getting flag poles taken off them at like halftime etc because they are seen as a weapon if they are classed as a weapon then why dont the security pick it up before the game?? Do you think the security at games needs to be improved?

Maybe you could share with us some bad experinces when attending a game.

*dont use this thread to blame or pin it all on one team or group of supporters*

To be honest I haven't been to a live game in years but it does seem the crowds get rowdier every year. I think security should start throwing people out and banning them for the rest of the season if their behaviour is deemed exessive, people come to watch football not cop abuse from morons. That said a little harmless banter can be good as well, its striking a balance between your teams mum's wear army boots and Go and get ****** you piece of ****.

I don't think any 1 club is to blame. All clubs have their well behaved fans and their rowdy morons.

I have been to a few games at Lang Park and I have felt perfectly safe. During the Dragons/Broncos game, I was wearing my Steelers retro jersey and I was surrounded by Broncos and the worst I got was a "that team don't exist no more because they suck! Just like the Dragons!" (Worst call ever!). I don't know what it is like down in Sydney though.

the worst call ever for us is 39 years and won phark all.

There is like no comeback for that dammit, unless its a merged team or the wooden spooners:(

Like Steelers I was at that game and the crowd was great - both sets of fans were great. There was banter but never went to far. It was the same at the Test v NZ. I wonder if the venue has anything to do with it.

I havent been to many games in Sydney so I cant comment what it is like down there.

As per the posts above, keep this thread on track and in the spirit intended. We are not in the business of branding ALL supporters of a particular club as this and that given they have small portion intent on causing drama at rugby league games.

The majority of us attending rugby league games are genuine fans, the 1% intent on getting their head on the TV with acts of violence wearing team colours are not.

Well Ive only been to Suncorp games, I must say for some reason I feel really safe there, probably because nothing bad has ever happened there. But the security there is pretty poor.

There was one fight at the roosters game, granted it was between roosters supporters lol and one guy was carried off b y security they handled that pretty well.

I haven't been to a game up here yet, but in Canberra i took my 3 year old with me and I'll never do that again.

I don't think I'd take her up here either.

Marathon Stadium, home of the scummiest supporters ever. Other than that, I personally have never had any bad experiences with Bulldogs supporters but I am not foolish enough to believe it doesnt happen.

ive heard some bad stories re: raiders fans....one was earlier this year a storm supporter that i talk to over the net said as they were walking to the game that a raider fan ran past them and spat on them....every team has their idiots unfortuantely.
