Alot of people have been a bit iffy on the idea of taking the SOO to Melbourne but things are looking good down there so far. Apprently there has been 25,000 + tickets already sold.
And today on the unoffcial storm forum a few storm supporters posted about the new SOO 3 commercials...here is some quotes of what they said (im trying to find a clip on the net...no luck so far):
Have just seen the new SoO III television advertisement and it is one of the best I have seen.
Using footage from past SoO overlayed over areas of Melbourne it looks a amazing.
As it is for the game and tickets available from ticketek I can only hope it will be shown on all networks.
It starts of with an aerial view of Fed Square and people running around before moving down to street level with footage from games. It moves around the CBD with the theme of the game heading to the Dome.
The last shot is the players running away from screen into the Dome.
The commercials have also been shown during the AFL
So thats great news! Hopefully the advertising and promotion increases in the weeks to come and we get a big crowd down south.

Hopefully it gets the Melbourne population to start buying some tickets to not only SOO 3, but also Melbourne Storm games.

I agree with you there Steelers.. :D
As for this... Great news.. it has been really hard slog by a lot of people to ensure that SOO gets heard in Melbourne.. then again the Melbourne crowd has been pretty supportive of SOO, I remember a large crowd in 1994 when the game was sent down there from memory... ;)
GOOD LUCK MELBOURNE AND WELL DONE.. :D :D
And to Dennis Fitzgerald - Eat My Shorts!!!
One game each on home turf and the decider on neutral ground...seems fair!
Knock Denis Fitzgerald out, put him in a Storm jumper and tie him down to the best seat at a Storm and Origin game in Melbourne. I'd love to see him squirm. What a w***er.

The new Melbourne Origin ads are simply fantastic.
We need more of this style of promotion in rugby league as a whole.
There is a dedicated site to be launched, look out for it.

I found some bloke in some pub in Sydney after origin last wednesday and told started having a bit of a chat about origin in Melbourne, he kept saying it would be a disaster and no one would rock up, I pulled a figure out of my head and said "mate, they've alread got rid of between 20-30,000 tickets! you're a fool! Origin in melbourne will go good, vics go to anything related to sport and with the storm going well it'll be even better." now reading this post I'm glad to see my guess work was near spot on! Can't blame the other fella but, after all he was just a confused NSWelshman!

That is the thing about rugby league. A lot of the time, us pioneer types, need to convert our own flock to international or national development.
People need to have more faith in our game.
The game is still ages away, plenty of time to sell the next 20k. I haven't even bought tickets yet and it will end up being the only Origin match I get to this year, weird.

On the Sunday Footy Show, they just said that tickets are selling at an average 600-700 tickets per day for the third game in Melbourne. Great news
