Charity winner in Legends match
The Queensland Times
18.05.2006
LOCAL charities will again be the big winners from the annual Legends of League match at Ipswich’s QLD Group Stadium.
Event organiser Troy Byers said $120,000 had been raised from the previous two matches.
Mr Byers said proceeds from Saturday’s match would support a host of charities.
Another massive crowd is expected to pack into the North Ipswich ground for the match between the QT Maroons and the Mirvac Blues.
More than 7000 league fans watched last year’s encounter.
“I’m hoping it will be similar to last year,” Mr Byers said yesterday.
Seven matches will be played starting at 9.30am before the Queensland versus NSW match at 8pm. Ricky Walford and John Hopoate have been added to the Blues team.
Go Ricky - and good to see Hoppa hasnt been crucified for his on field brain explosions.
hopefully they come to toowoomba agian this year
I'll be making the trek out to Ipswich for the game.
Any chance to get the 'Benny's a wanker' chant going :)

Interesting news from the qrl.com.au website:
Beaconsfield Miner Brant Webb has yet to decide whether he will accept an invitation to play for Queensland alongside Allan Langer.

Well, Hoppa should come in useful, he was always good at plugging the holes in the defence.hehe

The NSW team beat the Queensland team by 2 points in what was a fun and exciting game.
