Inglis ruled out of Origin II
Melbourne Storm full-back Greg Inglis has officially been ruled out of next week's State of Origin II in Brisbane.
Inglis has stress fractures in his lower back and has been replaced by Canberra's Adam Mogg.
Maroons officials said they accepted the Storm's advice that the teenager would not be fit for next Wednesday's match.
Mogg will join his team-mates when the Maroons assemble for tomorrow's medicals in Brisbane.
Inglis had said earlier that he did not want to risk serious injury by travelling to Brisbane for further medical checks by Maroons staff.
"It's always disappointing to miss out on Origin," he said.
"I'm just happy my name's being thrown into the squad and they're hungry to get me back in there but I'm trying to get myself right.
"Hopefully I'll have 10 years in this business and I don't want to go up there and risk losing two years."
Inglis said he was hoping the Maroons could force the series to a decider.
"They're probably feeling a lot of pressure at the moment, they're facing four years of series loss in a row," he said.
"But I think they've got the right people up there to win this game but hopefully I'll be all right for the third State of Origin in Melbourne."
