In all honesty in anyones mind how does Chris Flannery get a start in the Queensland state team. At least when they picked Ben Iken he had a excusses *edited*. But really don't queensland have a better utility player then chris.

I'm with you Munster,
Flannery has been ordinary in every Origin he has played

I don't know what you said about Ikin but it was probably warranted.

QLD will struggle...the crowd is our only chance...maybe will should start selling cans at the game again.

Yeah i agree i dont know how they put him in there. But he has been alright for us he should go good for QLD with the support from the other forwards..

Here is a question for you... who else is there? Queensland are really really suffering in the forwards at the moment, and there isn't anyone else out there to pick.

Well i agree with you steelers but has he been picked as a foward or as a utility player if so what about Casey MCGUIRE he also can play lock hooker 5/8 and most backs pos but if he was picked as a foward and foward only why take out scott he only had the one game bring him off the bench instead. another is Tom LEAROYD-LAHRS but im not positive if he is a queenslander. But yes we are strugerling in the fowards.

Berrigan is all the utility player you need.
Pick big specialist forwards on the bench and rotate them with our 20 minute forwards.

Petro
Shillington
Scott
Thaiday
Harrison
Webb
Myles

There's seven forwards that can handle the Origin level.
We bled Mathew Scott in Origin 1 and then dumped him.

how do you know that they can handle SOO. Shillington and Tronc haven't played it yet. and Scott Thaiday Harrison and Myles have only played one game. im not saying they cant. i hope they can and wish them luck for game 3. Flannery will be the experiance the QLDers need IMO

Everyone has to start somewhere....If you have a ripper of a season and can match it with the best in NRL week in week out then you should be rewarded with a SOO spot, IF form warrents selection.

I think Tronc would handle it just fine...as would the others but ofcourse it would take time to adjust to SOO.

I see your point tho, QLd need to win this game...so going with someone with experince and a level head may be the way to go.

Your talking about experiance if this was the case wouldn't it be tfar better for Queensland to have place lockyer to fullback and prince to half, and not blooded a new fullback a new winger and another new secondon rower

well thats what i would have liked to but the selectors didn't do that. so you have to get the experiance from somewhere else. remamber Hunt has got a Aust game under his belt already

Tronc isn't agressive enough IMO. I'd have Shillington on the bench with Thaiday, Berrigan & Ben Hannant (Hard runner of the ball).

Start on fowards:
Props: Petro Civoneciva & Carl Webb
Back Row: Nate Myles & Corey Parker (Worker in defense & Agile for a big fella)
Lock: Ashley Harrsion (Handy with the ball & agressive in defense)

You may have a point TitanBronco
I just saw the Sunday Roast and Gould and Geyer had a shot at Tronc because he didn't belt Lance Thompson in the dying stages before the break in the Coyboys/Sharks game.

They obviously have the same opinion.

Steve Price nor Petero Civoniceva are overly aggressive in their play either let's be honest ;) I do agree with Gould and MG, I saw the incident and believe he should of shaped up with Thompson as the 'big man' of the team. I know a former rep prop who was disgusted in the non retaliation...I guess the possible suspension is in the back of the players minds these days...

We miss Crocker in the maroons line-up, he is a firebrand forward suited for Origin to take on and stir the likes of O'Meley, Mason and co. I cannot see another QLD forward on the horizon that is purpose built to be an enforcer in our pack. Webb can be that man though he is reverting back to pre Cowboys form where he languished in the lower grades of Brisbane before his recall to their starting team. Let's hope we (QLD fans) can inspire him this Wednesday night to fire up and take the NSW forwards on!

I was really happy with how Chris played. He's one of those players who just go out there and do their job week after week. He's a hard worker in defence.
