Had the tele going and the radio on during the Panthers v Dragons game and one of the radio commentators - Ryan I think it was, made an interesting point.

He said he thinks that Dean Young should be on the bench for SOO ahead of Wing. I cant disagree - being slightly bias here though.

Young has been outstanding wherever Brown has needed to play him. 6, 9, back row he has that versatility that is needed - and the heart and toughness needed to succeed in Origin. He has week in week out been on eof the Dragons best.

Thoughts?

my bias opinion is i would pick Young in any team i could have these day. he is a very capable lock 2nd row player who also plays hooker well and could fill in in the halves or in the centres. his defence is awesome and attack is coming along very well also

I say not sure... he is a very very good player.. but whether he should be there instead of Craig Wing is debateable to the death... they are both superb players.. but for experience Wing has him... keep going strong though Dean and you will be there in no time.. he is a star of the future IMO... :D :D

I voted 'not sure'.

Craig Wing is a great utility player who like Young can cover a variety of positions with a proven track record at the elite level.

"IF IT AIN'T BROKE, WHY BOTHER FIXING IT" is a cliche that would be argued, Wing has been a regular in NSW and Australian teams with great success. Young is a good young player that had a really good game against a pathetic Panthers team (not taking credit away from a 5 star performance) and has performed consistently for the last 2-3 seasons.I think he will be looked at in the future, no question, though I cannot see him getting in the side ahead of Wing for this series.

I think that Young is in very good form, but i don't think that Wing should be dropped as he hasn't done anything wrong and is still proving himself. If nsw loses however, and Wing doesn't play a major role in the game, then for the 3rd match i would give Young the chance to play...

As a QLD supporter I don't want Young to play because it would make QLD's task alot harder, but as a Dragons supporter I want him to play. He is definately good enough and the experience would make him a better player for the Dragons.

Wing is another player thats been picked on past performances IMO. Young should replace him for the 3rd game irrespective of how the series hangs. Deserves his shot.

I believe Youngs time will come next year, if not game 3.

Young and Creagh are my two favourite players, so i hope to see both wearing the sky blue one day soon.

Young would do well at SOO but leave Wing there and wait till next year to bleed him.
