STAIN RESISTANT JERSEY FOR WESTS TIGERS

Wests Tigers will wear a revolutionised new jersey featuring a ‘stain resistance’ fabric in 2008.

Four new jerseys were unveiled today at the Sydney Cricket Ground as part of the Wests Tigers plans for the centenary year of rugby league.

X-Blades Managing Director Bill Spyros said the jersey is protected from absorbing substances such as blood.

“The jersey has a time period whereby a trainer can wipe the blood from the jersey before it is absorbed and stains,’’ Mr Spyros said.

“This will alleviate the problem of bloodied jerseys having to be changed during a match.’’

Mr Spyros added the fabric was one of the lightest to be knitted for use in a professional contact sport. The fabric was developed in Australia with a leading performance fabric manufacturer.

“Microtex Moisture Management Fabric is constructed with a unique multi-filament fibre that makes for a finer feel with superior strength,’’ Mr Spyros said.

“This superior fibre offers exceptional softness and stretch.’’

Features of the Microtex fabric include:
• Anti-microbial finish to maintain garment freshness
• Moisture management treatment
• High UV protection (50 +)
• Breathable mesh construction
• Excellent print base
• Superior softness
• Easy care properties
• Keeps wearer dry, cool and comfortable
• Excellent drying properties

Tigers jersey looks like a training shirt.

As for the stain resistant jersey, quite appropriate for fans that are the biggest... Actually betetr not go there.

Thats it. I knew there was something not right about them. Too simplistic and too many logos.

Stain resistant? Blood pretty boys. Pitty the chooks couldn't come up with this a couple years back to go with their hair care endorsements.

This can't be new technology though. If Watmough could wear a kit that made him invisible in the grand final, surely stain resistant is old school.

My first thought when seeing the Tigers new jersey was that it looked like a soccer shirt but I think calling it a training shirt is more on the money. But who knows, it might look great on tv.
